Ingredients:

2 c mashed potatoes (instant if you like)
½ c lard (shortening)
2 c sugar
1 T salt
1 qt warm milk
5 T yeast
4 eggs beaten
14 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Warm milk, add yeast and beaten eggs, mix together. Cream together potatoes, shortening, sugar and salt. Add milk mixture to potato mixture. Add 10 c flour and mix. Add more flour to get the right consistency for the dough. Let rise again, then fry. Fry at about 350ºF.

Powdered sugar
Vanilla
Hot water (Faye prefers milk)

Mix to desired consistency for syrup dip while hot. (Faye likes the glaze thicker - more like a thin frosting.)
