Ingredients:  
1/2 C. (1 stick) plus 6 T. butter, softened
3/4 C. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 C. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
3 C. Quaker Oats, uncooked (quick or old fashioned)
1 C. raisins
1 C. nuts, chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F.
Beat together butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; mix well.
Add oats, raisins (and nuts, if using); mix well.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack to cool completely.
