6 c. peeled and chopped apples 4 Tbsp. brown sugar 4Tbsp.butter
4 c. flour 4 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs beaten 1 1/2 c. sugar 4 Tbsp. butter melted
2 tsp. vanilla 1 1/2 c. whole milk

Caramel Frosting
9 Tbsp. brown sugar 4 1/2 Tbsp. cream 3Tbsp. butter
Bring to a boil.
Sift powdered sugar into mixture until desired thickness and add 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla.

In a frying pan melt 2 Tbsp. butter. Add apples and brown sugar and saute for 7-10 minutes, until apples are tender withe a slight bite to them. turn off heat and set aside.
Heat oven to 425.
In a mixing bowl sift flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. In a separate mixing bowl, combine eggs, with the sugar. Add the melted butter and vanilla and stir to combine. Add the whole milk, mix until fully incorporated. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until just combined and there are no more dry bits left. Add the apples to the batter. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray and fill 2/3 of the way full with batter. Bake donuts for 10 minutes or until they bounce back when poked with your finger.

Frost with caramel frosting.
