1 cup mazola oil
1 cup butter
1 cup crisco
1 cup orange juice mixed with 1 tsp baking soda
¾ cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
3 egg yolks
1 shot whiskey
9 cups flour
⅛ tsp cloves
⅛ tsp cinnamon

Syrup
3 cups sugar
3 cups water
¼ cup lemon juice and peel
3 Tbsp honey

Topping
ground walnuts
sugar
cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven 350º

2. Prepare syrup
Mix all in a saucepan except honey
Boil x 10 min
Turn off heat
Add honey

3. Melt butter and crisco together very low heat

4. In a mixing bowl
Mix oil/butters and sugar
Add eggs one at a time
Add orange juice
Add flour mixed with baking powder a little at a time

5. Shape into ovals

6. Bake until brown

7. When cookies are cold, place into hot syrup until well absorbed
Sprinkle ground nuts with 1/2 tsp sugar and cinnamon
* Can do this on a separate day
