1 ½ # lean ground beef or 1# ground venison and ¾ # mild Italian sausage
½ c dry bread crumbs
1 (8oz) can tomato sauce or pizza sauce - divided
1 egg
½ c chopped onion
½ t oregano
1 garlic clove, minced
1 t salt
¼ t pepper
1 ½ c shredded mozzarella cheese
3 T ketchup
2 T brown sugar
2 T grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350º

Mix together ground meat, bread crumbs, garlic, egg, oregano, onion, salt, pepper, and ½ of the tomato sauce. On wax paper, shape mixture into a rectangle, approximately 8" x 10". Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

Roll up and seal all edges to keep cheese inside (it still will often seep out).
Place in 4" x 8" loaf pan and bake for 1 hr.

Mix together remaining ½ tomato sauce, ketchup, and brown sugar. Spread over meatloaf and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake 20 min longer.
