1 c butter and lard mixed
1 c sugar ½ brown
1 egg-unbeaten
4 tbsp cream
1 tsp almond or vanilla extract
3 c flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar and cream well. Add egg and extract. Add flour to make a stiff dough....work it with your hands until all is rather crumbly. Pinch off a small ball of dough. Place in center of sandbakkelse tin and with thumb press dough evenly on inside spreading it as thin as possible --bottom and side. Place filled tins on cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for about 15 min or until they are golden brown. Cool slightly before removing from tins. Turn tins upside down and tap with fork until they fall out. Clean tins with dry cloth

We would always have mom make these for us to take to church for the lutefisk dinner for exchange we had to bring her some lutefisk..
