1 cup water
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
½ cup sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
First bring to a boil the water and butter. Add flour, sugar, eggs, almond extract, salt, baking soda, and sour cream. Mix until smooth. Pour into 15x10 greased pan. Bake at 375º for 20-22 minutes.
 

Frosting

½ cup butter
¼ cup milk
½ tsp almond extract
4 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions:

Bring frosting ingredients to boil. Pour over cooled cake. Sprinkle with almonds or walnuts (optional).

Personal Notes:
Some people prefer to spread frosting on a cooled cake. If spread on warm cake, it is very rich and crunchy icing. If you wait and spread on cooled cake, it is more of a regular frosting. We prefer the crunchy icing. Very sweet and candy like. Awesome!
