3 lb. beef roast
3 - 4 cups water
Salt and pepper
Bake at 325 until roast is done about 3 hrs.
Cut up roast in chunks. Put broth in refrigerator so grease comes to the top. Discard grease and put broth and chunks of beef in large cooking pot. I add about ½ cup celery and ¼ cup chopped onion.
1 or 2 cans mixed vegetables and cook until boiling. Simmer and later add egg noodles or rice as directed on package before serving.

Instead of using the mixed vegetables, you can add small cubed potatoes, sliced carrots, beans, peas, corn, cut up cabbage or whatever you desire.
