Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/4 cup shortening (Crisco or butter), melted
1/2 cup cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar (sift if lumpy)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine melted shortening, cocoa, and salt. Add milk and vanilla.
Gradually mix in sugar in 3 parts. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Add more sugar to thicken, or milk to thin, to achieve the consistency you want for spreading.

This will frost 2 8" or 9" layers or a 13x9" sheet cake (so they say...it can be skimpy).

This recipe is from the back of a cake mix. I started to see boxes without the recipe, so I thought I'd better copy it.
