1 Chicken
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup shortening
3/4 stick butter
Milk
Chicken stock

Directions:
Directions:
Boil the chicken season with salt and pepper, skim off foam as it cooks. Take out of the water and place on a platter to cook. Debone and chop chicken into bite size pieces.

Mix together flour, salt, baking powder and shortening with enough milk to moisten. Roll out on a flour covered board and cut into squares.

Bring the fluid from cooking the chicken to a boil adding butter, pepper, chicken stock (or bullion) if you don't need additional fluid. After the liquid is boiling add the dumplings, cook for 15 minutes. If the liquid is not thick enough add some flour with salt & pepper mix with chicken broth. When thickened add your chicken.
