1 ½ cup sugar
½ cup butter (softened)
1 cup buttermilk for powder buttermilk mix 1 cup of water and 4 Tbsp of buttermilk powder
1 (8-oz) sour cream
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp almond syrup (optional)
4 eggs yolks
5 ⅓ cup flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ tsp baking soda
¾ tsp. salt (optional)

Directions:
Combine sugar & butter, beat till fluffy. Add buttermilk, sour cream, almond extract, almond syrup, vanilla extract, and egg yolks. Beat well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup level off. Add 4 cups flour and baking soda, baking powder and salt.. Mix well then stir remaining 1 ⅓ cup flour. cover dough in refrigerator 4 hrs or overnight.
Heat over to 375. shape into 1 ½inch balls on floured surface then cool each ball into 10 inch long rope. Shape into figure 8. bake for 7 to 8 mins

* Tracy Suess added almond syrup and used buttermilk powder to this recipe and people love these cookies. Lower temp time and baking time
