Crust Mix
1/2 c. Butter
1 c. Flour
2 T. Cold Water

Topping Mix
1 c. Water
1/2 c. Butter
1 t. Almond Extract
1 c. Flour
3 Eggs

Glaze
2 c. Powdered Sugar
4 T. Cream
1 t. Vanilla
1/8 t. Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cut crust Mix together until it resembles a coarse meal. Press into two 3x12 rectangles on an ungreased baking sheet.

Boil water and butter. Add almond extract. Remove from heat and add flour and eggs. Beat until smooth. Spread over pasty rectangles. Bake at 400º for 50 minutes. Check often.

You can add jam, pie filling, or nothing to the pastry after it cools. Drizzle with glaze. You can also top with almond slices.
