Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 c soy sauce (reduced sodium or regular)
1/2 c. red wine vengar
2 t oregano
1 t basil
3 medium fresh cloves garlic, crushed (or for a pathetic substitute: 2 t. garlic powder)
(add this LAST! 1/2 c vegetable oil (canola is a good choice because it stays liquid in frig, unlike olive oil)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except oil to wet the dry herbs in a 2 c. measuring cup. Then add the oil last. Pour into a glass or plastic bottle. Store in glass or plastic bottle in refrigerator. Shake bottle before use and pour over chicken, venison or beef and marinate for 1-12 hours prior to grilling or broiling. May use in a ziploc bag and squeeze air out and freeze prior to cooking to prevent freezer burn in storage.

Note: NEVER use marinades on meat and return to the container! Shake and pour a portion onto raw beef, chicken, venison in a glass or pyrex/corning container and marinate for 1-12 hours--need not be swimming in marinade, ok to have a puddle around it, just turn the meat occasionally.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Patricia Slipka (married to Joseph, Kathy Volante's brother and mom of 3 girls: Colleen, Brigid and Meghan) served this to us in the summer of 1994 when we were en route to North Dakota to visit Alvin Nitchman and Karoleigh on the prairie with our 3 oldest girls.
