3/4 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 or 4 ripe bananas
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups sifted flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
3/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:

1. Cream butter and sugar with mixer. Blend in bananas, eggs and vanilla.

2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt together. Add sifted ingredients gradually to creamed mixture.

3. Add milk and blend well. Stir in nuts.

4. Pour into 9x5x3-inch loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
