1 large green pepper, core and chop fine
4 large firm cucumbers thinly sliced
5 small white onions peeled and thinly sliced
1 large clove of garlic peeled
¼ c, salt
2 qts of cold water
14 ice cubes
3 ½ .c. sugar
1 ½ c. vinegar
1 tbsp. mustard seeds
1 tsp. celery seeds
1 tsp ground turmeric
3 pint canning jars

Core green pepper and chop fine. Put green pepper, cucumber, onion and garlic in large bowl. Sprinkle with the salt. Add cold water and ice cubes and let stand 2 hours. Remove garlic, drain vegetables. Mix sugar, vinegar, mustard seeds, celery seeds and turmeric in large kettle, add vegetables. Bring just to a boil on high heat. Remove from heat and kettle and pack in hot sterile jars. Work out bubbles by pressing down with spoon and seal. Makes 3 pints.
