2 cups sifted CAKE flour or 1+3/4 cup all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 can condensed Tomato Soup
2 eggs

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Grease & flour two 8" round layer pans

Sift dry ingredients together into large bowls.

Ad shortening & half of the soup.

Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes

Add remaining soup & eggs. Beat 2 minutes more then pour into pans

Bake 30 - 35 minutes. Let cake stand in pans 10 minutes before removing , then cool on a rack

Frost cakes once cooled with Cream Cheese Frosting or Frosting of your choice
