1 - 9" crumb crust or 1 - 9" baked pie shell
1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese
1 can SWEETENED CONDENSED Milk
1/3 cup fresh or bottled lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla
1 can prepared cherry pie filling or CHERRY GLAZE (see recipe)


GLAZE:

1 cup drained, red, tart pitted cherries
2 TB sugar
2 TB cornstarch
1/2 cup cherry juice

Directions:
Directions:
Let cream cheese stand at room temperature until softened.

Beat until fluffy

Slowly stir in milk until thoroughly blended.

Stir in lemon juice & vanilla until well mixed, then pour into prepared & cooled pie shell

Chill 2 to 3 hours in refrigerator before serving

Make GLAZE:

Blend sugar & cornstarch in a small saucepan then stir in cherry juice.
Cook until thickened & clear, stirring constantly. If you want a brighter red color, a few drops of red food coloring can be added before stirring in cherries. Let cool to room temperature then spread on top of chilled pie. Garnish as desired & serve chilled
