1 C. butter cubed
1 C. water
2 C. all-purpose flour
2 C. white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 C. sour cream
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 Teaspoon vanilla extract
Frosting
1/2 C. butter, cubed
1/4 C. Milk
4 1/2 C. confectioners sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 C. chopped almonds
Directions:
Directions:
In a large saucepan, bring the butter and water to a boil. As soon as it starts to boil, take it off the heat and stir in the flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, salt, baking powder, extract and baking soda until smooth.
Pour batter into the greased baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 18-22 mins or until golden brown. cool on wire rack for 20 mins
For frosting, in a large saucepan, heat the butter and milk just until it comes to a boil. immediately remove from the heat; stir in confectioners sugar and extract. stir in almonds and spread over warm cake and let it cool completly.
