1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
2 cups flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts (Mom used walnuts)
Apricot preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º

Cream together butter, sugar, egg yolk until creamy.

Add flour & mix well

Stir in nuts. Divide the dough in half

Spread one half of dough into a greased 13 x 9 greased pan. Press in evenly.

Spread 10 - 12 oz. apriocot preserves over dough., then pinch off little pieces of left over dough & drop on top of preserves.

Bake for 10 minutes. When you remove from oven, immediately flatten with the back of a spoon but do not disturb the bottom layer.

Bake for another 25 minutes or until browned.

Cool completely before cutting into bars
