12 slices bread
3 c. diced ham or sausage
1 can (4 oz.) mushrooms, drained
1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
4 T. chopped onion
1 1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
5 eggs
2 1/2 c. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Pepper to taste

Directions:
Remove crust and butter six slices of bread. Cube and place in deep dish. Cover bread with ham or sausage, mushrooms, green pepper, onion and 1 c. cheese. Remove crusts and cube the remaining bread and spread over top. Beat eggs, milk, salt and pepper together and pour over the top. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover pan and leave in refrigerator overnight. Uncover and bake at 350º for 1 1/4 hours. Remove from oven and sprinkle with 1/2 c. grated cheese.
