1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup raisins
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup walnuts
2 TB HOT water
1 tsp soda

Preheat oven to 375º

Cream shortening & sugar

Add egg

Sift & add flour & spices

Stir in raisins, nuts & applesauce

Dissolve soda in HOT water then add to batter
