1 T. baking powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 1/2 sticks unsaltd butter, cold, diced
1/2 c. cold buttermilk, shaken
1 extra large egg
1 c. grated sharp cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten with 1 T water or milk

Directions:
Directions:
preheat oven to 425.
place 2 cups flour, baking powder, salt in bowl of an electric mixer with paddle attachment. with mixer on low, add butter and mix until butter is size of peas.

Combine buttermilk and egg in small glass cup, beat lightly, with mixer still on low add to flour mixture and mix until moistened. In small bowl mix the cheese with just until flour to coat cheese and with mixer on low add to mix only long enough to combine.

dump on floured board and knead 5-6 times, roll as rectangle and cut into squares or cut into circles and place on parchment paper on cookie sheet , brush top with egg wash and sprinkle with seas salt and bake and bake 20-25 minutes.
serve warm
