Mix:
6 cups flour
1 T salt
1 lb. Crisco (2-1/3 cups)
Mix together in large mixing bowl


Sugar Cookies:
2 cups mix
3/4 cups sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup flour
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Mix original mix together
Make as many batches as needed.
Stir together cookie mix, sugar, and all the other ingredients.
Blend well. Dough is soft. Roll out in flour and cut out, sprinkling with sugars.
Then bake on lightlly greased cookie sheet at 375º for 8-10 minutes.

These cookies are a family tradition. I used to get together with my Mom and sister and make these for Christmas, now we do it with kids and grandkids. They are Dad's favorite Christmas cookie.
After making them for over 50 years, last year I got the bright idea to double or triple the cookie recipe and then I wouldn't have to mix it up so many times. We make quite a few batches.
