¼ c shortening
¾ c sugar
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla
1⅓ c flour
¼ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt

Burnt Sugar Frosting
2 Tbls butter
½ c confectionary sugar
¼ tsp vanilla
3-4 tsp hot water
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar, and egg. Add sour cream and vanilla
Combine dry ingredients and add to mixture
Chill for at least 1 hour

Drop by tablespoon 2in apart onto a greased baking sheet
Bake 425º for 7-8 minutes (try 400º)

Frosting
Melt butter until golden brown, stir in sugar, vanilla and enough water to spread
Frost when cooled
