1 cup corn meal
2/3 cup flour
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
2 TBSP sugar
1 tsp baking soda
2 TBSP melted shortening (butter)
1 cup buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
In large bowl, combine corn meal, flour, salt, sugar, and baking soda. Stir in 1 egg, melted shortening and the cup of buttermilk. Mix well. Pour into greased 9 x 9 pan. Bake 350º for 25-30 minutes.


Serve with butter and honey or pancake syrup
