2 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 cup milk
2+1/2 cup flour
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1+1/2 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

Beat together - egg, shortening, sugar & molasses

Sift together all dry ingredients.

Add half the dry mixture to the creamed mix then the milk & then the rest of the flour mixture

Pour into a greased tube pan. or 9 x 12 oan.

Bake 45 minutes
