2 cups self rising flour OR all purpose flour +1 TB baking powder + 1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1 cup applesauce
2 eggs, beaten
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup oil
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup finely chopped nuts

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º

Stir together flour, cinnamon, & cloves. (Use spoon to put flour in measuring cup, do not scoop)

Combine applesauce, eggs, sugar & oil.

Stir in raisins & nuts.

Add all at once to flour, stirring only until flour is moistened.

Pour into greased 8 x 4 loaf pan.

Bake for 50 -55 minutes. Allow to cool in pan about 15 minutes before removing.
