2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 8 slices each
2 cans crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1-1/2 c. sugar
1 t. vanilla
12 oz. Sprite (or 7up, Mountain Dew, any lemon-lime soda)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll and place in two rows of 8 each in a buttered 9x13" pan. Melt butter then stir in the sugar. Stir just until combined, but still grainy. Stir in the vanilla and pour this mixture over the tops of the dumplings. Pour soda around the sides. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
