Pillsbury's Cream Pie Recipe

1 baked pie shell
2 cups milk
1/3 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
1/8 salt
2 tsp butter
3 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk

in medium bowl, mix dry ingredients together

Add hot milk slowly to dry mix, wisking constantly, then pour into top of double boiler.

Add butter & cook until thick & smooth - about 15 minutes, stirring often.

Beat egg yolks slightly, then add a little hot mixture to them gradually until well mixed, then quickly add to the rest of hot mixture stirring constantly. Stir & cook for 2 more minutes.

Take off of heat & add flavorings. Pour into baked pie shell

Whip egg whites into a meringue & spoon ontop. Broil to make peaks golden

BANANA - 3 sliced bananas can be put on crust before pouring cream over them or add 3 mashed bananas to cream then pour into pie shell.
CHOCOLATE - chop up 2 - 2oz squares of unsweet chocolate & melt into cream while its hot on double boiler
COCONUT - Add 1+1/2 cups shredded coconut to cooked filling
BUTTERSCOTCH - Cook 1 cup brown sugar + 4 TB butter together over low heat until thick & bubbly, then add to scalded milk. Substitute this for the sugar in the cream recipe.
