1 16 oz. package of split peas (or 2-3 cups)
1 diced yellow onion
1 cup diced carrots
1 diced potato (I normally leave skins on)
8 cups water and/or your choice of bone broth
1 tsp. salt (or to taste)
pepper to taste

* Throw everything in crockpot. Cook on low 5-6 hours or high 4-5 hours.
* Puree with an immersion blender to desired consistency. If it's too thick just add a little more water and reblend.
