2 tbsp butter
1 small onion (finely chopped)
4 (10 oz) pkg frozen broccoli spears, cooked and drained
1 (10¾ oz) can cream of chicken soup
2 (10¾ oz) cream of mushroom soup
½ cup slivered almonds
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup fine dry bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 325º
In a small skillet melt butt – add onion and sauté until tender, but not browned – transfer onion to a medium bowl - stir in cooked broccoli – butter 2 1 ½ qt casserole dishes – Put half of broccoli mixture in each buttered dish – in a medium bowl together soups, almonds and cheese – spoon evenly over broccoli mixture in each casserole dish - sprinkle evenly with bread crumbs – bake for 45 min to 1 hour or until heated through - If preparing ahead cover unbaked casseroles tightly with foil and freeze for up to 2 months – when baking a frozen casserole it will take from 1 hour to 1 hour 15 min.
