1 tbsp. cornstarch
2/3 c. water
1 14 1/2 oz. can (1 2/3 c. ) evaporated milk
3 egg yolks
1/4 c. light molasses
Dash salt
3 egg, whites
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. semisweet chocolate pieces, finely chopped

Combine cornstarch adn water; stir in evaporated milk. Cook and stir till mixture boils; beat egg yolks till light. Stir small amount of the hot mixture into egg yolks; return to hot mixture in pan. Cook and stir small amounts of the hot mixture in pan. cook and stir till mixture is just boiling. Stir in molasses and salt; chill. Beat egg whites till soft peaks form; gradually add sugar, beathing till stiff peaks forms. fold into molasses mixture. turn into 11x7x 1 1/2 inch pan. Freeze till firm break in chunks; beat with electric mixer till smooth. Fold in chopped chocolate; return to cold pan. Freeze till firm Makes 8 to 10 servings
