BREAD PUDDING
2 cups soft bread crumbs
4 cups milk (scalded)
2 eggs
2 egg yolks
⅓ cup sugar
Salt
vanilla
¼ cup butter, scalded
¼ cup strawberry jam

MERINGUE
2 egg whites
4 tbsp sugar

BREAD PUDDING
Bake at 350º
Add bread crumbs to milk – beat eggs and egg yolks together slightly and add sugar and salt – add bread crumb mixture, vanilla, and butter mix well – Pour into buttered individual custard cups, set in a baking pan and pour hot water around custard cups – bake in a moderate oven for 45 to 50 min - remove from oven spread each with jam and top with meringue

MERINGUE
Bake at 300º
Beat egg whites until stiff - add sugar – beat until glossy – spread over pudding – return to a moderately slow oven for 20 to 25 min
