1/2 cup sugar
4 T melted shortening
1 beaten egg
1/2 cup milk
1 cup flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Cream:
Sugar & shortening

Add: egg & milk

Sift dry ingredients 3 times and mix in milk mixture.
DO NOT beat!

Pour:
8" greased cake (round or square) pan

Sprinkle on top:
3 T. sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon

Bake 15 minutes at 400º or 20 minutes at 350º
