1½ qt of 2% milk
⅔ cup sugar
½ cup uncooked white rice
½ cup raisins
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
1. Combine milk in a heavy saucepan. Bring to gentle simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat and cook uncovered for 1 hour., stirring occasionally.

2. Add the raisins and rice and increase the heat to medium, and cook, stirring frequently until the rice has absorbed most of the rest of the milk and the pudding is creamy (approximately 30 more minutes).

3. Remove for heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm or chilled.
