4 egg whites, 1/2 cup
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
3 1/2 cups sweetened coconut, lightly packed
Chocolate Dip
8 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
6 1/2 tablespoons butter

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 325º.
In a large bowl, beat egg whites until frothy. Add vanilla, sugar and flour, mix until smooth. Stir in coconut.
Using 2 – 12x15 baking sheets, line with well greased parchment. Evenly space 1/4 cup portions of dough. Pat each 1/2" thick.
Bake until macaroons are golden and only slightly wet-looking (about 25 minutes). Switch positions of pans halfway through baking. Transfer macaroons to racks and let cool.
Optional:
Melt chocolate and butter. Keep chocolate warm. One at a time, drop half of each cooled macaroon in chocolate.
