Mom's Holiday Prime Rib Recipe

5 lb Boneless Prime Rib
1½ c Dry Red Wine
½ tsp Bay Leaf Powder
1 tsp Salt
½ tsp Black Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Place prime rib in large shallow roaster. Combine seasonings and pour over uncovered prime rib, starting with fat side up. Keeping prime rib at room temperature, turn every hour until all four (4) sides have been turned once. Then, turn every 1-2 hours to coat all four (4) sides again.

Preheat oven to 325ºF. Remove prime rib from roaster and pat dry. Discard marinade. Put the prime rib back in the roaster uncovered and fat side on top. Bake in oven for one (1) hour ONLY.

Turn off oven. DO NOT OPEN OVEN AT ANY TIME! Let stand 3-6 hours.

Turn on oven to 325ºF, WITHOUT OPENING OVEN, and cook the following amount according to how you would like it cooked.

Well - 1½ hours
Medium - 45 minutes
Rare - 30 minutes

Remove to heated platter and serve with horseradish/sour cream mixture.
