Directions:Put the entire package of oreos in the food processor…process until they are fine crumbs. Add the block of cream cheese to the food processor and process the oreo crumbs and cream cheese until it’s completely smooth. Form into balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Refrigerate until the balls are hard (1-2 hours). I bought a very small ice cream scoop at Bed Bath and Beyond (about 1 inch across) to use to make the balls. It worked well and the balls don’t have to be very large…they are rich! Melt the chocolate chips and dip the oreo balls in the chocolate and put them back on the wax paper and refrigerate until solid. When serving, they can be eaten right out of the fridge, but are really good after sitting out for a bit and the center is softer. To dip, I dropped 1 in the chocolate and made sure it was coated and then lifted it out with a fork and used another fork to push it off on to the wax paper. To dress them up, you can drizzle with melted white chocolate (I did not do this). |
