2 cups sugar
2 cups self-rising flour
3 eggs
2 small jars fruit baby food, small (plum was typically used)
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup nuts
¼ cup applesauce (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. Combine all dry ingredients. In a large bowl, combine sugar, eggs and oil. Beat until smooth. Mix in baby food and nuts. Beat in flour mixture. Bake at preheated oven at 325º for about 45 minutes. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto wire rack and cool completely.

This cake was a very popular cake during the 70s-80s. Plum was the most popular version during the time. Walnuts are generally suggested as the nut for the plum variation. A quarter cup of applesauce can be added to increase the moistness. Variations are to use one vanilla custard and one pear baby food, and use pecans.
