2 1/4 cup sifted cake flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup milk
2/3 cup Shortening
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond or lemon extract
Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients together into mixing bowl. Add shortening and 3/4 cup milk. Beat 300 strokes by hand or two minutes at medium speed of mixer. Add eggs, remaining milk and flavouring. Beat for another two minutes at medium speed. Pour into pans greased with shortening and lined. Bake 350F for 30-35 minutes.
