plain pie crust for 2 pies
3 tbsp flour
3/4 cup sugar
1 can Aylmer Pitted Red Cherries for Pies
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 tbsp butter

Directions:
Directions:
Line an 8" pie pan with pastry. Mix flour with sugar. Add pitted cherries for pies including juice. Add almond extract and mix well. Turn into lined pan. Dot with butter. Moisten rim of pastry shell. Cover cherries with a lattice work made with strips of pastry. Press strips to bottom crust at the edges.
Bake in hot oven 450F for 10 minutes then reduce heat to moderate 375F and bake 25-30 minutes longer until crust is golden brown.
