Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/4c unsifted all purpose flour
1/2c yellow corn meal
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4c shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/4c shortening
1/3 c water
Grated Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425F

In large bowl, stir together flour, corn meal and salt. With pastry blender, cut in cheddar cheese and shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
With fork, stir in water. Shape into ball (if mixture is too dry, add water until moist)

Between two sheets of waxed paper, roll half of dough into a 12x10" rectangle. Remove 1 sheet of waxed paper. Cut pastry into 5 1/2" strips. Remove dough strips, holding ends, form twist by turning ends in opposite directions. Place twists on baking sheet; press ends to sheet to prevent curling.

Bake 6-8 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven; sprinkle with parmesan cheese. Remove from baking sheet. Cool on wire racks. Repeat with remaining dough. Makes about 8 dozen.
