There are no instructions with this recipe, but typically, all ingredients would be put in a saucepan and and brought just up to boiling level.

With this Chocolate Sauce recipe, Lois has noted that she used "Pet" milk. That was a common term for the brand of evaporated milk that most cooks had on hand at all times. Also, the recipe lists "oleo" rather than margarine. This was another common term that is seldom used today.
