Ingredients:

½ cup mazola oil
½ cup crisco
½ cup sugar
½ cup orange juice mixed with ¼ tsp baking soda
3 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp cloves
1 tsp vanilla
4 ½ - 5 cups flour

Nut Mixture:
1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1 Tbsp sugar
½ tsp cloves
1 Tbsp honey
Orange Zest

Syrup:
1 ½ cup sugar
2 cups water
1 stick of cinnamon

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 º

Nut mixture:
1. Mix all ingredients together
2. Add enough honey to make soft

Syrup:
Boil ingredients x 20 min

Pears:
1. Mix crisco, oil, and sugar together- ~10-15 min until sugar dissolved
2. Add eggs and orange juice
3. Add flour a little at a time, baking powder, cloves, vanilla to make a soft dough
4. Take a small ball of dough, flatten, and add about ½ tsp of nut mixture
5. Shape into a pear
6. Bake until golden brown
7. Once cooled, put into hot syrup for 2 minutes
