1 C. flour
½ tsp. baking powder
⅛ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
⅓ C. melted butter or margarine
1 C. packed brown sugar
1 egg lightly beaten
1½ tsp. vanilla
½ C. chopped nuts
6 oz. chocolate bits.

Directions:

Sift dry ingredients together. Add nuts and set aside.

Stir brown sugar into melted butter and mix well. Cool slightly.

Mix beaten egg and vanilla into brown sugar mixture. Add flour mixture a little at a time, mixing just until combined.

Pour into greased 8"x8" or 9"x9" pan. Bake at 350º for 20-25 minutes until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
