1 large onion, sliced
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
2 TB shortening
1 - 1 lb can sauerkraut
1 - 1 lb can tomatoes
3 potatoes, peeled & cubed
2 medium carrots, sliced thin
1/2 cup Water
2 TB brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 pound of frankfurters, quartered

Directions:
Directions:
In dutch oven or large pot, cook onion & peppers until tender in shortening.

Add remaining ingredients except franks.

Simmer covered about 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender

Add franks & simmer for about 10 minutes more.
