½ c. butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 ¾ c. all purpose flour
½ tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
⅔ c. chopped pecans

Brown Sugar Frosting:
¼ c. butter
½ c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. milk
1 c. powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla; mix well. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to cream mixture. Fold in pecans, (dough will be sticky) Shape into two rolls and wrap each in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight. Unwrap and cut into ¼ inch slices. Place 2 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375º for 7-10 min. or until set. Remove to wire racks and cool.

In small saucepan, melt butter over low heat; add brown sugar. Cook and stir for 2 min. Gradually add the milk, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar. Cool for 20-30 min. Frost cooled cookies.
