Ingredients:  
¼ cup lb. margarine
1 cup sugar
1 8 oz. pkg. fine chopped dates
1 egg
½ cup chopped nuts
2 cups rice crispies
1 pkg. coconut
½ - 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, add sugar, beaten egg, and dates. Cook for a few minutes until dates soften. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, nuts, and rice cereal. Cool slightly. Shape into balls and roll in coconut. Cool on wax paper. Makes 3-4 dozen.
