8 oz self-raising flour
8 oz butter
5 oz castor sugar
8 oz cooking apple diced
1 egg
1/4 teaspoon salt
milk to mix

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the flour and salt together and rub in the butter until mixture looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and work in the finely diced apples. Beat the egg lightly and add with enough milk to make a fairly stiff dough. Roll out thinly and cut into squares. Bake on a moderately hot bake stone and serve sprinkled with sugar.
