2 c. sugar
1 c. butter or margarine
4 eggs
6 tbsp. water (or buttermilk or milk)
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
6 large ripe bananas, mashed
2 tbsp lemon juice, optional
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease and flour (or use parchment paper) 2 large bread pans. Cream sugar and butter/margarine. Add eggs. Add water (or buttermilk or milk), bananas, vanilla, and lemon juice if desired. Separately combine flour and baking powder. Mix dry and wet ingredients until barely combined, add nuts. Equally distribute into bread pans. Bake for 1 hour. Recipe can be halved successfully.
